Trademark types
In practice, trademarks are divided into word trademarks and figurative trademarks. Word trademarks consist entirely of letters and/or numbers in standard font, while all other trademarks normally are considered to be figurative trademarks.
A figurative trademark confers the exclusive right to the trademark in its concrete figurative version, whereas a word trademark confers the exclusive right to the word(s) in any font with or without figurative elements.
In addition, there are several other types of trademark, e.g. three-dimensional, sound, scent, or color trademarks.
